These 5 Women Are The Last People Born In the 1800s!

#1 Jeralean Talley, United States

Talley is 116 years old. She was born on May 23, 1899 into a difficult life of picking cotton and peanuts. In 1935, she was able to move to Michigan where she found good economic opportunities. She married a man named Alfred Talley and the two of them had one child. Her husband passed away in 1988 at the age of 95. Even without her other half, she still lives a fun life with her large family. She now lives with her daughter and takes annual fishing trips, and even likes to visit the local casinos. Until about 10 years ago she also remained an active bowler and took pride in doing her own landscaping!

#2 Emma Morano, Italy

At 115 years old, Emma is Europe's oldest living person. She was born on November 29, 1899. She is the only woman her age who still lives on her own without any assistance. The oldest of eight, she is the only of them still alive today. She worked hard until the age of 75, when she retired. She claims her eating habits are what helped her live so long. Every day she eats one raw egg and one cooked egg, just as the doctor recommended when she was just 20.

#3 Gertrude Weaver, United States

Born on the 4th of July, the 116 year old is now America's oldest person! She was born to sharecroppers and married in 1915. She had four children, and only one of her four children is still alive today. He is in his nineties. She remains active, enjoying manicures, "wheelchair dancing" and her favorite activity; Bible study.

#4 Susannah Mushatt Jones, United States


The 115 year old was born on July 6, 1899. Jones, known as Miss Susie, was born in Alabama to sharecroppers. She was the third of 11 siblings and in 1923, she moved to New York City, where she still lives. Susannah presented “Negro Music in France” at her high school graduation and was awarded a seat at the prestigious Tuskegee Institute later on. Her family says she is a kind woman who has helped many of her loved ones afford college. Jones' niece says, “She wants everyone to go to college.”


#5 Misao Okawa

Misao is currently the world's oldest living person. She is now 117 years old. Born On March 5, 1898, she married young, but has been a widow for 83 years. Her husband died in 1931. Her secrets to living a long life are: good genes, good sleep, exercise, and sushi. Her motto is, "Eat and sleep and you will live a long time.”
